Delight yourself in the Lord, And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Psalms 37:4
As we journey through this life, there are times when we lose focus. Our eyes or attention tend to get fixed on what we see, and we begin to desire that other people have. We wish we could do this or go here or look this way; we covet what we don’t have.
God invites us to keep our eyes on Him, to take pleasure in Him. This invitation comes with a fantastic promise. When we do delight (enjoy, relish) in Him, he will gladly give us the desires of our hearts. What is your heart’s desire?
There is a saying I heard some time ago, “what we give our attention to grows” Are you giving your attention to the situations in your life that bring you distress, doubt, or anxiety? What would happen if we gave our full attention to Jesus.
So many are recognizing the benefits of setting daily intentions. Doing so will help achieve goals, encourage us to stay in the present moment, and lead to a more positive attitude. So today, set your intention to give your attention to Jesus, petitioning him for what we want and need. Not social media, not food, not our past hurts or perceived failures. Then watch Him manifest every desire.
Prayer: Father, this is the day you have made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. Today I commit my way to You, and I trust that you will direct my path.
