Hi, Temple Training fam!

Welcome to our blog! We are so blessed to have you here.

We are a gym that firmly believes that faith and fitness have a symbiotic relationship, and we are here to support you in building that foundation, as well as form a community that will uplift throughout thick and thin. Stop by to ask us any questions about health and wellness that you may have! We are here to help.

I wanted to chat with you all about your thought life. This is the beginning of changing your game. Whether you have never stepped into a gym before, or you regularly go, this is for you: believing that you are less than what you truly are will take wins away from you. Thinking lies about yourself can become self-fulfilling prophecies. When you trust in the LORD, you already have the victory! I’m going to repeat that: YOU ALREADY HAVE THE VICTORY.

We must put on the full armor of God every day to begin to conquer in EVERY area of our lives. “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” [EPH 6.11 NLT]

For example, if you speak to yourself, unkindly, “I will never be able to keep up,” or “What if others judge me?” First off, I want to encourage you! IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK ABOUT YOU. God’s opinion is the only one that matters. He calls us to take care of our temples because He lives inside of them. What a gift! We GET to move; we GET to make our food choices (more on ways to save and eat clean in the next blog post!), we HAVE THE PRIVILEGE to serve others! Secondly, just beginning the new thing (be it exercise, eating differently, going after a job you have always wanted) will change your mindset, and allow you to open yourself up to God-glorifying success.

Thinking becomes speaking becomes action and IS you. Start small. Truth is the easiest way to establish a lasting foundation! You are a child of God; you are Loved, you are chosen, you are forgiven, you are redeemed, you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you. Put your favorite truths on different post-it notes around your home. Mirror, refrigerator, stove, closet door!

Start speaking these things over yourself. For example, “I am strong, and I will hit a PR at the gym today because of the God I serve. LORD, You say I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Help me today give glory to Your name in this request.” Fill in the blank for whatever goal you want to accomplish.

I can stand on the truth that God will never disappoint you. Put in the work, and see your goals come to fruition! Only God can give you the ability to do this, so you have complete freedom to run towards the prize wholeheartedly—you don’t need to stress about getting it right on your own. He will never let you down: ”As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” [ISAIAH 55.9 NIV]

Let’s focus today on continuing in the Truth and Love for our temples, and this will translate to every aspect of your life and your community around you.

Junk is a state of mind; let ’s start cleaning up!
